Campbell River Minor Hockey Association is proudly volunteer-driven.
From coaches and team managers to tournament volunteers and committee members, our volunteers play a vital role in creating a positive hockey experience for every player.
Whether you're a returning volunteer or getting involved for the first time, we sincerely thank you for helping make hockey possible in our community.
Volunteering is a rewarding way to:
Support your child's hockey experience
Give back to the hockey community
Help players develop confidence and life skills
Meet other hockey families
Make a positive impact on young athletes
No previous hockey experience is required for many volunteer positions.
CRMHA regularly requires volunteers for a variety of roles, including:
Help teach hockey skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence while creating a positive and enjoyable environment for players.
Assist with communication, scheduling, team administration, and helping keep the season running smoothly.
Support player safety and assist with team operations throughout the season.
Help organize and support CRMHA tournaments, fundraising activities, and special events.
Support committees, fundraising initiatives, special projects, and other activities that help strengthen our association.
To ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants, volunteers are required to complete several steps before participating.
All volunteers must register annually through the CRMHA Volunteer Registration Portal.
A valid Criminal Record Check is required for all volunteers working directly with players.
Criminal Record Checks are free for volunteers and can be completed online.
All volunteers working with players must complete the Respect in Sport - Activity Leader Program.
Please note:
The Respect in Sport Parent Program does not satisfy volunteer certification requirements.
Certain volunteer roles, particularly coaching positions, may require additional Hockey Canada or BC Hockey certifications and clinics.
CRMHA will provide guidance on required certifications based on the position you have selected.
Volunteer registration must be completed separately from player registration.
After registering as a volunteer:
CRMHA will review your registration.
You will receive information regarding required certifications and training.
Criminal Record Check instructions will be provided if required.
Coordinators will contact you regarding volunteer opportunities and team assignments.
CRMHA simply could not operate without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers.
Every coach, manager, safety person, tournament volunteer, committee member, and parent helper contributes to creating a positive experience for our players and families.
Thank you for helping make hockey possible.
